Has anyone bought a carter avs repop choke for 70 340 engine?
If so where? and
Are they all the same or are some better?

thanks

Try the carb shop. This is for the intake manifolds choke well.

Did you want info on installing a electric choke on an older carb?

It's a little work, drill and tap the bosses in the same spot on the old carb as the new carb and run the rod over to the lever, which may need to be swapped out for the newer style arm or you'll need to modify the rod and/or the spot where the rod hooks up.

It'll take some tinkering, but it'll work.

thanks for the info.
My major problem is, i don't know if my choke level assembly was put back together right.

Before i start my car from a cold start, the choke flap is closed. as soon as its starts, the choke pull off opens the flap up fully. Is that right?

I need a pic of the right side of a AVS for a 70 340 to be sure i get it back together right.
thanks

I don't think I have a shot of my AVS's anymore. Currently, there not near me to reshot them.

Temp. dependent, that would be right. (Choke operation.) The colder it is, the less the choke plate will open up on initial start. If it is warm out, that would be about right. If it is cool to cold, then no, something is wrong.
