I have a Carter Competition Series 9636 4 barrel carb. Back in the day this carb was the performance replacement for the 340 and 383. This carb came off a running vehicle and has been sitting on the shelf for over a year. It was on my 273 for awhile.

Yes, 9636 is 625cfm

I had one on my 440 in my 66 D200. No problems as long as you keep the fuel pressure under 6 PSI. After a while especially on hot days, it was hard to start until i put a pressure valve in line. A good rebuilt pump will put 7 PSI out and that is the problem for all Carters
