Does the new Cash for Clunkers "government assistance" mean that an old parts car is now worth $4,500?????

This is great. I have an 85 cutlass rust bucket that I wanna sell for $500, I can get $4500 towards a new car?! Awesome.

But only if the new car gets two or more miles per gallon better mileage than the one you're trading in........

Just read that the old car has to get 18MPG or less and the new car has to do 4mpg better for $3500, 10mpg for $4500. Cars older than 25years aren't elgible.

And then theres a cah for gold advertisement on TV........

Cars older than 25 yrs aren't eligible. I'm glad to hear all the old cars won't be turned in and crushed.

Thank god cars older than 25 are eligible... but when you think about it... they arent giving out much money on this. I mean... 25 years old and less than 18 mpg? My rampage is 25 years old and gets 25ish probably... what the heck even got less than 18 from 1984+ ?
