Hi,

i have a 360 Block lying around here, cleaned it a little bit (should go to the machine shop for boring / honing) and saw that there is casted in in big letters AAQA in front of the engine (under front cover). I found an article at the internet that this stands for "high nickel content" Iron, but this article was for an older 413 block.

Is this also correct for my block? or is just every block stamped like this? Maybe someone can help me decoding this numbers:

8W360 (left upper front)
61 77
AAQA
4006830 360 5
88279074

thanks in advance!

Michael

I think it's a foundry code , nothing special , especially on a 77 block ...

I think it's the foundry mark for one of Mopars largest suppliers. It's on blocks and heads from the mid 60 to the 90s.
