Cb?

Didn't you have a post of pics taken on an 1100 foot tower, or something like that a few months ago?

Yes. I didn't climb it. I had found the video on Youtube, and someone posted it to that thread ---I was being critical of MANY stupid mistakes made. It turns out that it was originally posted on a commercial broadcast engineering site, and there's a HELL of a lot of good info on that site about various aspects of broadcasting, from the towers, antennas, transmitter maintenance, and data/ audio links.

LOTS of "stuff"

Fer 'xample, a video on audio problems and ground loops

An interesting vid about getting a station back on the air after a "little problem"

I found reference to that vid on there, and they evidently took it down BECAUSE it was a poor example

Here's the thread I posted:

I used to live next to a "HAM" guy.
He had an antenna as long as could fit from the side of his house, to the back fence.
It was interesting to see him outside manually cranking that thing up.
He was the typical "glasses nerd" type of guy, but also had a sbc powered Kellmark GT (usually VW powered IIRC), and a 920 Yamaha, also one of those V8-6-4 cadillacs.
Mousey little wife that used to walk around half naked, and then a girlfriend that looked like Bianca Jagger. Wow, didn't realize all that was stuck in my head.

Now days cb radios have 40 channels and you can get away from all the dumb stuff. I have trucked for 43 years and when i am running with someone we always go to a different channel and talk. They are great for what you want to do . There are many to choose from and many sizes. Just do your home work and don't buy the cheap junk. I like the cobras with a short wilson antenna magnet mount. Just my opinion argue on.

I was considering a CB for the Dart as well. I have a couple of freinds that'll join me, just for fun, but was also wondering if it would be more burden than fun. Glad to see it in a thread, thanks guys.

Thanks for sharing this info. I never heard of Wilson so I will check that out.
