center console

I plan on putting in a center console on my 70 duster. at the moment its on the column I was just wondering where i could find a no shft column that would replace it?(name of other vehicles if any). Also I was wondering if when i put the new console in would i have to remove the old carpet and get it replaced. Thanks for yuour help

You can just cut the old carpet to mount the console.
The non-colum shift cars are the one your driving. Other A bodys. For ease, just knock out the pin that holds the shifter in and let it ride like that until you find what your looking for.

i believe there is a article in the
forums that describes using a
column collar from a 78 truck.
i remember it was cheap and a
easy changeover. if you can't
find it let me know i'll see if i
can find it for you. look in interiors.
