Hi guys, I am thinking about getting rebuilt calipers from Rock Auto. Any difference between Centric and Raybestos rebuilt units? I see that only one side is available for the Raybestos currently.

Thanks for your help.

Patric

I just bought new wheel cylinders and M/C from rockauto.

All Raybestos brand.

They are all made in china.

I've not installed them yet, but don't see any glaring issues.

I've found that the quality of chinese manufactured goods is HUGELY dependent on the involvement and QC enforcment of the company hiring out the factory.
If the company in control has good practices, the parts are fine.

I've purchased Centric calipers before, when they first brought them back onto the marketplace.
Didn't find anything wrong with them, at that time.
But then, there really isn't much at all to a caliper.
The main body, pistons, and rubber seals.
What can go wrong?

I have one Raybestos on order, from Rock Auto, that's due in later on during the week.
I can give you my report on a Raybestos unit, when i get it.

Which model ? The 68- 72 4 piston calipers or the 73 up single piston ? I bought 2 sets of 4 piston Raysbestos rebuilds and they look and work well . Centric are probably just as good .
Centric 90 day warranty , Raysbestos 3 year

Sold both,as a parts guy. Have had good luck with both. Good luck on finding made in U.S.A.

Why does it take an offshore company to clean and paint a North American made (CAN, US,MEX) core caliper, check hone and apply new rubber seals? Thats whack!
