How does the light bulb socket come out of the ‘68 marker lights?

My bulb socket spins so I thought maybe it screws out, but it just spins.

Does the socket just pull out of the marker light?

Thanks

If it's like my '68 Monaco was, it should pull out. Of course the burnt out one was rusted enough to stick like glue. :BangHead:

The OE side marker light assembly on my '68 Barracuda was a two-piece casting made of pot metal that threaded together with a 1/4" of fine threads....corroded rock-solid by the time the bulbs burned out and fractured during attempted disassembly. Should have been on the maintenance list to clean & lube regularly. Available aftermarket items are, IMHO, absolute junk!! Oh well...

Front or rear? Rear ones in the trunk pull straight out. Pull on it, it may be tight. Front ones have a rear housing that screws into the front housing. You must disconnect the wire and unscrew this inner housing where you will find the bulb.

Hey fellow FABO'ers, I happen upon this on Master Technician '68 Service Features Book on MyMopar.com that explains how to replace the bulbs on the new for '68 illuminated side marker lights.

I could not for the life of me find how to replace these bulbs anywhere in the '68 Service manual.
