I've been searching the net for a simple wiring harness and ECM.
I came across this. Seams pretty cheap, but probably not very tunable.
I might go for this. I bought a 2004 5.7 4x4 Ram truck minus the cab (previous owner needed it for a roll over), it has all the harnesses, steeing colunm, trans, transfer case ond diffs. Once i get it running i should be able to sell everything I don't need.
I only paid $600 so I think it's a fairly good deal.

Let me know your thoughts.

What do you mean? You bought the setup you posted in the link? That is ENTIRELY tuneable.

No, I might go for this.
Just not sure how much tuning you would be able to do.
I see it uses a mega squirt but it also includes a harness,

You'd still have to buy a $375 throttle body and a wideband. So tack on another $500-$600 for those parts.

Let me put it this way. I see no advantage AT ALL to a non- cable TB

I don't understand why the OEMs thought they had to do this

For me, this would be about as sensible as sitting on your porch and driving your car around ala RC / model

My guess is when they went to the drive by wire , it can control idle ,cruise control function, eliminating idle control motors ,tps sensor, cables and cruise servos which now it is just one plug for a person on the assembly line to deal with and less weight after eliminating those things.
They are always looking for ways to save weight and speed up assembly, Like the cooling hoses that have quick disconnects instead of clamps .
