Ah yes nothin' like sitting' out on the back porch on a warm summer night sipping' a cold one and watching' bugs get Zapped :)
 
And here I thought this was gonna be about farts. Disappointed I am.

Or the long buzz and smell of a big moth that got zapped.... It smells like... victory....

My cats do that.

I'll see a moth, bee, spider, etc somewhere in the house, followed by a blur of a cat chasing after it and then I'll hear "Crunch crunch crunch." as the cat devours it.
 
I have an attached garage and have a bug zapper in it , keeps the bugs out of the house after I have had the overhead door open

My friend in town had mosquito's and bugs gathering real bad at his front door
and in his covered drive way so he tryed one, it killed allot of bugs thats for sure
I told him he would be better off buying one and give it to his friend next door :D
On the next monday night foot ball night he told me to look out side next door :happy1:
Yep :D sure as chit there was a new bug zapper attracting all the bugs :cheers:
When I see one on just 5 feet from some one's door I laugh a little :D
 
Looks sorta like what we called potato bugs. If you've ever grown potatoes you know what they are!! Lol those crazy things will be all over the leaves of the potato plants. When I was nigh high to a grasshopper we had to go out and pick em off the plants. Apparently I enjoyed the job so they started callin me "tater bug" my oldest bro still calls me that quite frequently. Lol
 
Those big sort of "redish" ones look like June bugs with the wings tucked in..... maybe, I'm not sure tho, they look pretty big!

These however are whats known as "Jitterbugs" around here and what the fishing lure is made to represent.....Yep, I use one, and YES, I catch Bass with it, Bass, to bite, HATE noise, or well at least the large mouth ones do....This is however they are near the top.....Bottom fishing for bass of any kinds sinking lure normally a worm does wonders! LOL More small mouth Bass tho comes home in those times.....
 
Years ago I was fishing at a river that had a campground also. This place had one of those zappers. Man, the bugs were soooo thick that thing would zap non stop for 15 or more seconds at a time! Just a zzzzzzzzzzzz and little sparks. One in a while there would be a huge ZAP when a big one got it. LOL. Sounded almost like a lightning bolt.
 
Someone told me that bug is June Bug....

The zapper my dad had was good for 5 acres. It was just a tube shaped metal screen surrounding the light. Was open on the bottom. Neighbors used to ***** about the noise until they realized they had no more bugs. Had a bat fly into it one night, it got hung up on the screen and caught fire. My Dad & I just sat on the picnic table watching it burn.....until my Mother unplugged it....she was ranting about how we were sadistic..
