I just dropped in 3:91s in my Dart, but I find that I'm all out of gear going 55mph (I'm not surprised) So I'm looking for a cheap way to go for overdrives. I'm a junkyard type of guy, so if someone could tell me what to look for, and in what type of cars and trucks, and what type of modifications I'd need to install one, I'd be really happy. I'm currently running 360/727 w/ an 83/4 Thanks! Just to confuse the issue what's the story on tailshaft overdrives?

I like your style, I am running a pretty short tire back there now. What size would you recomend?

I have 3.91 rear and a 27" tire. at 65 My rpm is 3150.
Then I kick the a518 into od and rpm drops to 2175.

I heard a rumor that some RV campers use Gear Venders OD.
If ya have an RV salvage yard nearby it might be worth a call.

Unless you or a friend have the skills to cut up and convert your floor and Tbar xmember I don't recommend the 518.
After saying that, I like mine and would do it again for a cruizer.
