Looking for a cheap small block. Finally decided to pull my 340 to detune it and throw a mild small block in it while I do that. Anything will work, 273, 318, 360, 5.2, or 5.9 mag. Located in the San Francisco bay area.

Why don't you just pull the 340 and get crackin' on it and use whatever $ and energy that you would spend on acquiring/rebuilding something else into it?

11:1 compression, solid roller, light weight rotating assembly to a 4 speed. Its exactly opposite of what i want now. It's an amazing motor but i just went over the top on the build. It's like driving with an on-off switch. Either im bogging it trying to take off smooth or i'm sideways through the intersection.

I hear you. Is it the orig motor to the car? If not, sell it or trade it for something you can drop in and enjoy. Either way ... good luck.

Nope, it's originally from a 70 challenger. It's now in my 66 belvedere. Motor was doing well until a Harland sharp rocker took a dump. It's a great motor, I really built it with care but it's too much for a street cruiser. I should have just stuck with the 225/3 on the tree. Lol
