How do i hook up reverse lights to the shifter? Do i need to install a microswitch that gets activated when reverse is engaged?

What's the minimum height you can mount the shifter? I'm thinking about getting a factory console and having the shifter fit inside but i don't want the shifter to sit really high.

I'm actually in the middle of installing a cheetah scs shifter in my 68 barracuda, 904 tranny...71 dustar, do you have any pics on how you mounted it to the tunnel??
 
i haven't even gotten the shifter yet. i'm trying to plan ahead.

Since you already have one, is there anything on the shifter that allows you to connect reverse lights up to?
 
what are you putting the shifter in? sure your reverse light switch isn't in the trans itself??
 
i'm attach shifter to a 727. I have the 3 prong switch in the trans already just didn't know where to hook up reverse lights too (ezwire harness not stock)

old thread but do you even have a power wire in that harness for reverse lights? turns out ive ran into the same problems....i too am using the EZ wire harness...
 
yea. i know. just thought id ask....maybe he has it all figured out by now, so he can post up what he done...
 
Yes there is a power wire for the reverse lights that I ran to the switch and then from the switch to the actual lights.
