Chrome Lock Ring

Quick question! Want to replace the chrome lock ring that goes in the windshield gasket of my 1965 Dodge Dart GT. Can I just replace the chrome lock ring or do I need to replace the windshield gasket too? Wondering if I just replaced the lock ring if the windshield might start leaking.

Yes you can change the lock strip only and it will not create a leak.
