I've been going over posts and found one from member GoodysGotaCuda about swapping a 1980's chrysler denso alternator onto his 318.

Unfortunatly his link is now dead. Sounds like my stock 340 alternator brackets will work and it's pretty much plug and play useing the external voltage regulator which I like the idea of.

Anyone done this? There's tons of info on doing it with the toyota version but not as much for a mopar alternative.

If you have magnum heads you'll have some clearance issue with the B+ output terminal. Tried using the newer chrysler denso alternator (off a 90s ram i think) and I wouldve had to grind the heads down to get it to fit.

The toyota denso alternator fits with no problems using the new brackets.
