I ran out of VHT Chrysler Red (SP155) while painting my slant. Looks like the VHT SP155 has been discontinued. Does anyone know how close of a match Duplicolor Chrysler Industrial Red (DE1632) is to the VHT color?

Don't know about that, but INternational Harvestor Red is pretty much a dead match. You are talking about the same color as the early 273s and slant sixes, right? This is the closest I've seen.

Thanks for the tip on the IH paint. I’m in the final stages of rebuilding the 225 for my ‘65 Dart. I had a case of VHT Chrysler Red engine paint and didn’t realize I’d used it all up until it was too late. I went to order some more and found it was discontinued.

no two reds from different manufacturers are ever going to match.

i'd get enough paint to recover the whole thang.

that being said the IH paint is dead nuts. the duplicolor red is good, but it's brighter.

Yeah, it's been gone a while. That was some old paint. It won't go bad though unless it freezes and even then sometimes it's still good. lol

You got that right. And I've round the same red from the same make paint using the same code often doesn't match perfect. Red is just like that.
