just looked a 2 darts here in CT - rear leaf spring hangers are all the way into the trunk! check this out as the car is on grass.

What is the diffrence between a 70, 71 grill just the paint?

Yep. The '70 grille is mostly silver, the '71 grill is mostly black, surrounded by silver. That car has a '71 grille.
