cluch on a slant six

Hey out there. What cluch size are you slant six guys running. I have the 3 speed and have had the worst time geting the car to take up drive without jumping around and spinning the heck out of the thing to launch without jumping. i have used two differnt types borg and beck and something else. I think i went to the larger size presure plate. I have herd that the smaller plate works better than the larger unit. still out of the two still crappy. Any advice would be great.

If you have a shudder in applying the clutch it could be: Bad pressure plate, oil on the clutch disc, warped/uneven flywheel, engine/tranny mounts, bad or missing pilot bushing, or any combination thereof.

I am thinkin like Mark. You've said yourself you've gone through different parts and had the same problem still. Sounds like you haven't the problem yet. You could throw a 600 dollar clutch kit in it and still not fix it until you diagnose it first.

Very true thanks, I have removed the tranny and found the input shaft was leaking!!! Still i have read that the larger disc will sometimes make the car jutter. Will find out.
