been looking at clutches for this swap. is the lever type better than the diaphragm type. what should I look for and stay away from. Thanks,Bill

Many people on here run a Centerforce. A diaphragm or Borg & Beck (3 finger) will both work.

I prefer a diaphragm style, I feel it offers consistently smoother operation over the life of the clutch.

With that said, the last time I replaced my clutch i put in a Borg & Beck style and was happy with it too.

hi, mcloed makes a B&B/long pressure plate. it has the ford long style levers which have a c.w on the ends. it is way better over a B&B pressure plate.
I have used both, the B&B/long has less base pressure, can add c/w to fingers.

Could you explain a little more?
What makes it better? Lighter clutch pedal force with longer levers and c/w?
Do you have a link to this clutch?

I've been thinking I'd buy the centerforce since lots of members like it but would like to see a less spendy option.

For the street, you cant beat a centerforce dual friction. EASY pedal, smooth engagement and killer grip.. It is a diaphragm type.
