For headers with 1 7/8 primary tubes do you prefer a 3 or 3 1/2" collector? Engine is a 525-550 HP Big block.

Do they offer both? Usually collector size is dictated by the primary tubes.

Unless you plan to run 3.5 inch exhaust, the 3" collector with your small primary tubes will work fine.

I'm thinking about building my own set of headers so I can choose. I see some 1 7/8 tube headers have 3" while other have 3 1/2" depending on the car, so wasn't sure what is "better"

For 550 hp, I would prefer a 2" tube..... with a 3 1/2 collector.

Had 1 3/4" TTI headers on the car, than swapped to 2" Hooker fenderwell and didn't notice a difference. Thinking the 1 7/8" would maybe be better plus give me more tire clearance as I plan on making my own fenderwell headers.

I went from schumacher headers to TTI and noticed a lot of differences, not just in power.
