I took my column apart to change out the turn signal cancelation part. I have removed two screws that didn't need to be removed, and now need to know how to get them back in. The holes no long have thread and I believe the internals have rotated. Please let me know if there is a way to match the screws up with the threads without taking the column out of the car. The car is a 1967 Dart column shift.

There are previous threads with pics and details since you're not the first to may this mistake. Those 2 screws went into special nuts. The nuts were kind of square or rectangle with hole off center. Longer side of the nut hooks into a provision stamped in the tube. I don't know of a way to get those nuts in position other than have them in position ( screws started into them ) before assembly.

Sorry for delayed response. I was able to get the column out of the car, find the nuts and get it back together. Thank you for the help.
