For the love of God... is there any company out there that can accurately reproduce a correct roof rail seal for the '73-76 Duster/Dart Sport models?? after purchasing the Metro roof rail seals (twice) these are obviously made wrong. Any luck with Steele rubber seals? The windows are leaking very very badly and we can't install any interior until they are fixed. thanks FABO for any help :)

hmm... interesting Tony. Was it an easy installation or did you have to build up any portions of it from underneath to fit properly to the window? Anyone else like to chime in on this or other proudcts they've used that work well ?

Yes, the roof rail seal is the piece of foam type composite that the roll up wind comes into contact with that starts from the bottom of the quarter window and runs up to the top of the quarter window then runs about possibly 3 feet toward the front of the car. and ends down by the dash.

Finding this roof rail seal isn't the problem, several companies sell this product. The real problem is trying to find a company that can even make one properly !! Still wanting to hear from everyone else on how they got theirs replaced in the restorations

Actually, I feel pretty dumb regarding my answer. I had been up for a couple days partying and was trying to catch up on email & FABO last night...
I haven't gotten to the weatherstripping yet, but Steele has a good reputation.

I suppose a long night can do that to ya haha. So anyone done anything to their brand new restorations ?

This is what I'm referring to. If anyone can please provide any information on their products it would be appreciated.

The fit on mine was great......no problem with fit at all (Tamraz)

Same here, I think mine was Metro parts from Tamraz also.

Seems like some spots needed a bit of weatherstrip seal to hold better, but my window did require some adjustments to make it fit the seal better.
I wonder if you don't just need to get your glass adjustments dialed in better.

I know the adjustments can sometimes be a real pain in the rear but when they are dialed in, they are pretty decent considering they never were that great of a fit from the factory to begin with.

Also takes some time for the seals to conform a bit to the glass and may need to have the glass rolled up, adjusted right and left to sit for a while until the seal likes it's new happy spot.

Also make sure your seals provisions are really wedged into the roofrail metal channel by using a plastic wedge tool or something.
Spray silicone helps alot.

Thank you for your information. See we bought originally the window seals from metro 2 different occasions as mentioned above, but they are just horrible, nothing like the factory originals. The corner where the two foam pieces mesh together are not aligned at all and is to bulky. the seal has a goofy slit that I assume the window is suppose to tuck underneath when rolled up, BUT if you open the door it catches on seal and tries to pull it off of the car. We have maneuvered the window adjustments just about every single way possible but nothing works.

Can either of y'all be kind enough to show a picture of it installed in your car, particularly the corner of the seal and with the door shut and window rolled up please. Thanks

FYI: This is the thread we started awhile back about our dilemma it provides all of the pictures and problems we are encountering.
