Hey guys,

Still in the middle of my 318/390 Build. I have 3 Cams to choose from that I currently own.
-270S 224 .468 Ran for 3k miles
-282S 236 .495 New currently installed in motor
-294S 248 .525 Purchased from fellow FABO member Broke in

Currently running a B&M 2500stall so I would need atleast a 3000 for the 294S. Which I planned on doing sooner or later. I have roughly 8 months until its on the road so money isn't an issue.
Should I just get a nice 3000 converter and run the 294S or would that be too much cam for a street strip vehicle?
Also need a place that makes converters. Don't want to buy an off the shelf bomber, any recommendations? Thanks

What's gear ratio/ tire height/ compression/ exhaust /intake specs ? Let's start there

3300lbs/ 3.23 (3.90 on shelf)/ 28in/ 10.0:1/ 1 1/2 primary full 2.5 dual/ Gasket matched Air-gap 750 AED no choke mech. Secondaries

294S : 3.90 gears about a 3200-3400 tight 9.5 converter. The trick is the converter. Dynamic/Edge/Cope racing transmissions(a member here). A cheap off the shelf converter ,will suck ***. Expect about a 6-900 U.S dollar setback.
Timing curve needs to be changed .(about 18-22 initial,34-36 total. 1 5/8 headers would help.

Thanks Abody.

Timing curve is no worries. MSD Pro Billet no vac advanced. MSD 6al-2 Programmable. Contacted dynamic. All input is appreciated

Are you going to run the 3.23's or the 3.91's?
Mostly street?
282 w/-3.23's
294 w/-3.91's

I second the worth of a excellent converter. Even though I'm used to banging gears with my pistol grip, I see and hear this all the time from guys that know. Even more so from guys that went cheap and then got serious with a good piece.

Likely switch to the 3.91s. They have been taughting me on the shelf...
