Comp cam break in

Ok so I put new heads on my 318 340 X heads new comp cam air gap intake we did the whole 30 minute break in with break in oil from comp cam and the additive the lifter noise hasn't gone away but it seams to run ok it goes away a little bit after it warms up but it's still there. I pulled the valve cover everything looks OK rockers are opening and closing there isn't any slop in the push rods so it seams like everything is pumped up any help would be great comp cam 20-223-3

Fast rate cams make a bit more noise, not sure if this falls in this class.

What all did you do for a cam install? New springs? Push rod length check?

The recommended installation new springs pushrods are 1.5 it now only sounds like one is making noise I'm not sure if I should let it go and see if it goes away or tear it apart I had the same issue with the summit cam I put in a few months ago but it went away after driving it for a while

I'm building a stroker LA 360 and thought that if you use a High Volume and High Pressure oil pump it would limit some of the problems of new cam break in. I bought a HV pump and installed the high pressure spring hoping I won't have a problem. Of course I'm using Driven break in oil also.

I have the high volume oil pump 75 psi at idle cold about 45 or so warm the motor was built about 6 months ago so the block is broke in I just changed the cam to get more of a chop out of it I had the same issue with the summit cam it kinda went away but I changed those lifters to to a stock melling set and didn't have a problem after that

SBM motors really don't need the high pressure spring. The only thing I've seen with that spring is causing the rear main to leak. I've always run the HV pumps with stellar results and good oil pressure once warmed up/

Yup. That's an XE grind. Fast rate of lift. You're gonna have some noise. It's beating the valves open and slamming them shut. What rockers do you have?

I wondered that same noise issue. I have the same cam as the thread starter so now I know I don´t have to worry.

He gave a Comp part number above, so I would assume that's a no.
