I have a 66 383 engine for sale. It's still in my 88 d100 but I want to put a magnum 360 in it. Yes it does have a GM hei distributor and a Denso alternator both are new.The engine has been rebuilt to stock specs and stock cam. Has the closed chamber 516 heads. The engine is super clean inside i pulled a valve cover . Has a Torker single plan intake and is complete intake to oil pan plus pulleys, power steering pump and alternator. I may consider trading for a complete low mileage 5.9 magnum. I have a video of engine running . Located in Terre Haute , Indiana. Take 1200 for engine and I can ship it

when you say rebuilt to stock specs do you mean stock bore and what cam? 2 bbl or a hp cam?

Do you know what the casting date on the engine is? I am looking for a late 66 383, like November or December 1966 which would make it a 67 engine. I have a 96 5.9 Magnum and trans out of a 1996 Ram 2500 complete and running good with a new timing chain 116K on it.

I'm thinking late 66 maybe even November I'd have to look again. What side is date code on again I think drivers side

You can look on the top pad under the distributor also to see the date code it was assembled. Should be a "C383" on there also for 67.

Well it does say C 383 on pad , but date on side of block reads 8-11-66

Hmmm, well it was in a 67 anyway, I am still interested. The 5.9 Magnum and trans I have are still in the 96 2500 and ran great, the in tank fuel pump gave out and I probably won't fix it. The complete truck is available...
