I've had a compression gauge now for a number of years, must be a version sold by the chain autoparts stores. Maybe used only a handful of occasions all of this time.
Checked the compression on the daily driver 2001 Jeep Cherokee XJ Sport today. First cylinder read above 150 PSI. On the second cylinder the gauge blew off the hose after the fifth revolution. Cheap junk they sell these days.
I was able to push the hose back on and complete the testing after having my spouse turn the key while I held the parts back together. Five of the six cylinders read over 150 PSI and one was a little lower (around 135 PSI when the hose blew off).
