confused on links for lifters on a magnum

Im putting a magnum 5.9 back together and ijust realized the links for the roller lifters are numbered. But the numbers don't make any sense. Does it matter where these go?

no, does not matter. Just don´t forget them ;-)

The number likely identifies the press die it was formed in. Then if there are dimension issues they know which tool needs attention.

make sure to oil hole in the lifter goes up.
