Connecting 'vacuum amplifier' causes hesitation off idle

I found that my EGR pintel was adjustable and I could extend the RPM before it opened, maybe getting by an off idle flat spot. If you just bypass it to ported vacuum, it will never close during WOT.
 
The other nice thing about a new aftermarket EGR valve: it will come with a selection of orifice plates, so you can adjust the EGR volume to get the right balance between no hesitation and no ping.
