okay im restoring a 68 dart and it was orig a bench seat car and someone put buckets in with a aftermarket shifter, however i got a console with a stock shifter, whats the best way going about mounting the center console to the floor sense i dont have the brackets

Just spot welded to the floor. The brackets aren't that complicated either, if you're decent with sheet metal and not concerned about it appearing 100% stock you could fab them yourself.

best to screw the brackets in first to make sure the console is positioned correctly and then tack weld. pretty easy

I found it easier to line up shifter linkage and shifter box, tack then work on front and back brackets . you can make your own brackets. Should be a couple holes in counsol ,in storege area where mounting screws go. Set the console over the shifter box and line it up , it will fit slightly to the drivers side. get a small long piece of metal rod put it through the screw holes and tap to mark position ,so on an so on.
