What all would be involved in converting a 98' 360 to running a carb and getting rid of all the computer components? I want it to where it has the same technology an early 70s motor would have.

Cheers,
Drake

the 1998 engines would be a magnum which have a different intake bolt pattern then the 70's and 80's LA engines, it would require you redrilling the intake off of an older LA equipped dodge or swapping the heads and intake. mind you it could be done, but now a days most are looking for the magnum heads because they preform better. you maybe able to find an aftermarket magnum 4 bbl intake though

just get a intake manifold for a magnum...mopar...edelbrock and professional products makes them....

you will need a distributor also ...

You will also need an electric fuel pump.
Also all accessories on the engine run off a serpentine belt.

hughes makes an extension for the cam to run a mechanical fuel pump...

also can use older timing chain cover to allow regular fan belts and pulleys to be used...

Does anyone know what to do about the oil pan? Its a truck motor, so the sump is in the middle.

the oil pan will need to fit the chasis that the engine is going in...

pickup needs rear sump
car needs center sump...
