Since I needed a new windshield I decided to bite the bullet and convert to the '68 and up windshield gasket and trim clips on '67 Dart 270 crew cab. I bought the clips from DMT and the gasket from Steele Rubber ($yikes!$). Thanks to my new FABO friends, I just successfully removed my own windshield!!!! I am pleased to see that only very minimal prep work will need to be done before the new gasket can go in. I will be referring to other posts on the clip placement. Thank you all, you freaking rock!!

Mighty clean lookin windshield channel! You got lucky there!

I wish you well. I paid a lot of money to a local supposedly well reviewed glass co. to install the front/ rear glass in my 74, and they are like SCREENDOORS on a SUBMARINE. I was back there FOUR times.

STILL don't have it resolved

Either they don't make seals like they used to or the factory hands were wizards. Jk ..partially.
I found I needed sealer on places I wouldn't think I did, like between the glass and seal channel itself and even had to add a little extra because it held for the 1st rain... then leaked during a heavier one.. so I added sealer under the seal to top widow sil and that did it.
The bottom held fine with the thin butyl rope I laid down. The sealer flows, and thats what's good about it...because while factory used glaze and butyl too to seal imperfections... the sealer will find it's way into any leak and seal it.

You don’t have to install the clips and use the moldings.

For the past few nights I cleaned up the windshield channel. Here's a picture of the worst of it, before and after. I filled the spot with dura glass, cleaned, sanded and primed the whole channel. For the record, I tried to get a Precision gasket and it was delayed 3 times, Steele Rubber gasket arrived in 4 business days.

Excellent work! I'm getting ready to go through this on my 66 Dart. Do you plan on squirtin some paint on the window channels before installing the glass, or is primer good enough to install the glass, then just mask the glass when the body is painted. That's a decision I've been mulling over.

I think I will shoot some paint on it.

I'm pleased to report that my '67 Dart sedan now has the '68 -'76 windshield reveal trim clips installed. I found a magnet to be very handy on the top and bottom for holding while I marked the holes. I think I will paint the dash and schedule the glass guy for my new windshield! The clip "map" available on various threads was spot on! Thanks for the information on FABO!!

I now have a windshield. After watching them do it, I wish I'd have done it myself, but now I can blame someone else if it leaks. Not pleasing was the "Made in China" sticker on it. Just in time for some fall cruising weather this weekend. Thanks FABO!
