Just got off the phone with a buddy of mine.He has been looking for a 66 El Camino(dont ask me why)for a very long time.Well about a year ago he was out runnin around and saw one sittin in a field along with a couple other cars.Anyhow he went to the house and knocked on the door but no body was home.He left his name and # and went on.Month or so went bye and nobody ever called him back.Next time he was in that area he went back to the house,the car was still there so he went to the door again,this time a guy in his mid to late 50's came to the door.Well the guy said that he couldn't sell that car because it didnt have a title and was a parts car.But...
he said he had the one that the parts car was for for sale.It was a good project car that the guy had started and never finished because he had gotten a few more projects that he wanted to finish first.Anyhow they talked and the older man told my buddy what he had to have out of the project car.Well that was more than he could afford.So he figured that was never gonna be his and left it alone....Months went by...Then my buddy was at the parts store and the older man came in so they started talkin he asked if the he still had the car the older guy said"Ya...You still interested in the car?"
Dave(my buddy) said "Ya...But I still cant afford it"The guy looked him in the eye and told him he didnt care ...that if he wanted the car to come and get it...FREE.The guy said he figured he had enough projects and stuff that he wouldn't get around to finishing it,so someone else might as well.Clear title...(no the older guy isn't on his death bed or anything like that)No strings attatched...Straight up gave him this car!He picked it up this afternoon and called me after he got it home.The guy helped him load it and everything.Told him if he needed any parts he knew where to come.
