Now I'm not personally a fan of song remakes but some are pretty darned good. So post up any remakes that you like just as good or better than the original!

On par with Neil Young in my opinion.

I like this one better than Rare Earth's version. Rock and Roll piano: badassary.:D

Not a bad rendition on Steppen Wolf.

Here's an interesting take on Led Zeppelin's Kashmir that was in the remake of "Godzilla".

Here's Led Zeppelin live in the London 02 Arena back in 2012. Jason Bonham is on drums.:happy1:

I am one of those "1-man-band" guys and I'm working an an "album" of remakes from the 60's and 70's. Don't know if the link will work or not but I'll try to put up a sample. Hoping the project will be done this winter after I quit on the Duster for a while. I'll be sure to hijack FABO to let you guys know when it's complete.https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=600114546668952http://

The Typo O kicks ***, esp that bitchin outro/next song- fire.

BTBW is one of those songs that's almost a sacrelige to cover.
I've not heard a decent version yet, besides the original.

Hayseed Dixie did a bunch of ACDC, Queen and Aerosmith remakes.

The remake of "Black Betty" by Spiderbait wasn't bad, but I still prefer the Ram Jam version.

[ame]http://youtu.be/nU1VfYYKMDk[/ame]

Metallica did a really good remake of Bob Seger's "Turn the Page"

[ame]http://youtu.be/_2EddwEVx54[/ame]

Nonpoint did a good remake of "In the Air Tonight"

[ame]http://youtu.be/ihYwcaxEEUk[/ame]

These are just a few, but there are a lot that I could post.

I like almost all the remakes of this one, even Steve Miller's version and I can hardly stand him.

Probably one of the all time best remakes and videos EVER.

Wasp does a pretty good cover of Paint It Black

Iron Maiden has one of Doctor Doctor

Faith no More cover of War Pigs

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w4oZXfrf18Y"]War Pigs by Faith No More - YouTube[/ame]

Megadeth doing... A Tout Le Monde by Megadeth :D (by the way, it's a remake) It's good, but I still prefer the original version (slower pace, vocals were more icy. Though the Duet does seem to work well on the remake)

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iEyOwLY3rV4"]Megadeth - A Tout Le Monde - YouTube[/ame]

I should upload some videos from the last concert I went to. Night Ranger performed quite a few covers at that show, including one of Crazy Train.

Iron Maiden's version of "Cross Eyed Mary" Rocks.

Interesting remake of Joan Iett's "I love rock and roll"

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ITuOddPeYoc"]Britney Spears - I Love Rock 'N' Roll - YouTube[/ame]

Wow. Good mentions all around. I'll have to check out that Maiden cover. Cross Eyed Mary is, in my opinion, the best thing that Jethro Tull ever did. Dare I say I like it more than Aqualung.

Type O Negative... That album, I think my friend and I stretched the tape twice in the tape player in his '67 Sport Fury in high school, back in the '90's, listening to Bloody Kisses. What a good listen that was.

Hey, I'm going to shamelessly plug this Current Youth cover of Kid Cudi in here, because it hit a favorite spot with me and shouldn't be overlooked.

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kpoADL0DuDk"]Pursuit of Happiness (Kid Cudi cover) - Current Youth[/ame]

Hollywood Hig's son and his band are quite talented.

Lot's of good ones here. Here's a favorite of mine:
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6H57pWC5rvk"]Foreplay/Long Time (Jon's One Man Band Boston Cover) - YouTube[/ame]

One of my favorite bands;

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7838rD2dJiQ"]Skankin' Pickle - Turning Japanese (US Issue Vinyl Lp) 1994[/ame]

Mike Park, the vocalist and sax player is Korean.

He also owns Asian Man records, which is run out of his mom's garage, impressively, considering how many bands are signed on to that label, including Alkaline Trio.

On oldie...Gene Clark..

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oOdxNy6m-A4"]Dillard & Clark - Don't Let Me Down (1969) - YouTube[/ame]

one of my favs... Motley Crue

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PYhGi65Lijg"]Motley Crue - Smoking in the Boys Room - YouTube[/ame]

funny...I had originally heard that this song was written/recorded by one person and he was told that if he wanted a record deal / tour he would require a band...so that is how Boston was born...

Most of the music on the first album was done by Tom Scholz in his basement studio while he was employed at Polaroid. This one man band remake is like the original in that way. tmm

the best thing that Jethro Tull ever did. Dare I say I like it more than Aqualung.

I must admit that I had never heard of jethro Tull until my second year of university...only 12 albums were out but that is all he would play..

I just down loaded their x-mas album...

I'm a "Locomotive Breath" fan myself.

Interesting story about Type O...

I was turned on to them by an ex girlfried that also happend to be Mayilin Manson's ex girlfriend (pre-manson). All sorts of "interesting occurrances" relating to that woman (girl?- 22 at the time) happened such as the time a six month old bite mark from her started bleeding 10 seconds before she called me for the first time in weeks...

Anyway, I was looking at car stereos that had USB ports, so I could, well, use one...

I approaced the display, and inserted my USB memory and Type O started playing.
I found that interesting, since those songes are 3 layers down in the folder structure.

Anyway again, the next day on the radio I heard Peter Steele (from Type O) had died the previous day.

Wow.

Creeeeepy.

Brian Warner is an interesting guy. I have no idea what he's doing these days, but he's was around a lot of people I know before he changed his name to the former, for some reason.

I listened to Bloody Kisses until the tape broke. Wish I could have seen them, live.

Speaking of goth rock and covers;

Abba cover, by my favorite recent band, Ghost.

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ou5T1SeGhOo"]Ghost - I'm a Marionette[/ame]

I discovered about a month ago that Dave Grohl did the drums on this particular track.

If you like Type O Negative, listen to both of the albums that Ghost has. They just released this one in April.
