Engine coolant seeps into #6 cylinder after sitting for a week or two on my 1965 273 HP.

Engine has 2K miles on complete rebuild including hardened valve seats.
I hoping it's a gasket, but wonder why the gasket would go bad so quickly.
Do 273 heads have a reputation for cracking more than others?

Beginning to pull apart and will have the head off soon to check things out.
Appreciate a source for the head gasket. Autozone, Advance,,etc?

Thanks for any responses.

You need to see where it's seaping from. The gasket is a rarity, but not so rare that it can't be a cause. It's also possible to have a leak if the shop cut too far to install the hardened seats, or put in oversized-for -a-273 seats and broke through the castings to the water jackets. Head gaskets can be purchased anywhere. What's available over the counter are the same as any LA 318/340 at this point.
