How about a carb spacer should I get one and how big? Any Idea's on jet sizing or any carb tweeking I should do??????

my buddy is telling me I should get an 850 w/mechanical secondaries and I'm thinking that's kind of big. I just started my car for the first time today and that thing was super loud. It's a street car. I want it to run as strong as I can get it. is an 850 too big. You guys probally already know what I'm runnin you always help out a lot. Thanks I'm just a rookie this is the first v8 I've ever really built up. Thanks budget budget budget

Poor old 360 might drown with a 850, my 360 has 915J ported heads, 10:2:1 comp, Offenhauser Porto Sonic manifold, Chrome box etc etc ( 1-5/8 primaries ), currently using MP 292 duration cam & Holley 750 DP, size 71 jets front, size 81 jets rear, front 2.5 PV & no rear PV, also running NGK BP7ES spark plugs, engine runs strong & idles nice

on the cheap...3310 Holley (750 vaccum secondary)
2nd choice...770 Street Avenger
3rd choice 4150 Holley (700cfm double pumper)

650 Speed demon w/mech secondaries if your buying a new carb. this will give you real crisp street manners and on that engine will work just great.
try a 1/2" 4 hole spacer or a "Super Sucker".
