One of my favorite hobbies is driving myself nuts trying to figure out what is "correct" on my cars. My 71 Swinger came to me with a woodgrain, rimblow steering wheel. According to the factory literature the Swinger came with the S81 as the only steering wheel available. Demon came with the 3 spoke wheel with the dinky center horn button, the "Tuff" steering wheel, or the S81 wheel. So then, ordinarily, I would just assume that an owner stuck the woodgrain wheel on my car at some point, but I see so many 71 Swingers with that wheel on it that I am beginning to wonder whether it was added back as an option some time during the year. Anything is possible, right, and the factory was pretty good at working up "Spring Special" models to boost sales. Can anybody shed some light on this one?
