I have been noticing at shows I go to and around, what wing nuts people use on their air cleaners.
I have been seeing not many correct ones out there but I see in a book I have the correct ones.

Does anyone know of a source for re-pop correct ones?

The ones that go on pie tin set ups seem to have a wider base area on the nut than the later ones that are correct for the painted type air cleaners. (72+) which still have a wider base area on the nut than a standard hardware store version

Sometimes you can't find one like the original and just go with what you can find at the local hardware store...

You can always put a washer under it to get the same "footprint" as the stock one...

Well that is different than the one above. Could be different vendors for them? I will have to check my supply and see what I have now...

Like this?
It's cupped instead of generic flat.

do a goggle search for "stamped steel wingnut"..

I do not think Ma Mopar used the stamped style with the washer as shown on the 383 above. Nor the solid style, It should be a standard stamped wing nut.

They used all kinds from year to year. I would not hazard a guess. I have seen all you guys are showing.
