ok maybe the girdle is not the problem but hughes sells it with a stud kit and the rear main driver side has a bolt that doesn't clear my oil pump. anybody else have a girdle from them installed? i will be calling them later as the bolt head is way to tall.

Don't know what brand stud's you got but that's a common problem with ARP studs. You have to grind a little on the oil pump for clearance. May also have to grind the nut down some.

If you don't feel comfortable with that call Hughes and see what they say. Their super nice folks and I'm sure will be glad to help.

thats pretty much what hughes said. they said that sum do clear and sum dont, go figure.

I've noticed some differences in pump body shapes and thicknesses depending on the brand. That may be where the diff lies that allows some to clear and not others.

I have the Hughes cradle on my stroker that they installed. Had the same problem and I ended up taking the pump off and having my machine shop mill
.040 off the flat that was interfearing with the bolt hex. Also another friend of mine who used their cradle had the same issue and had to do the same thing. No biggie but yeah, with the difference in parts these days from one vendor to the next is doesn't surprise me any.
