I plan on keeping power steering on my 67 notch. Adding it actually since it wasnt equipped at the factory, and i want this option. However for those of you hard core individuals who dump your power steering for a manual chuck, a lot of times theres the left over crank pulley with the double grooves. These seem to be more common than the single groove pulley. If this is your case, why not modify yours into a single groove.

I had a double groove pulley from my 360 core engine, and the outermost flange was bent. I originally pitched it on my scrap pile. Then i got to thinking about it. My 69 notch is a manual steering car. It may stay that way, who knows. So i thought, maybe i could modify this damaged pulley into a single groove. The outer groove runs a PS pump so why not cut it off, smooth out the cut, and see how it looks. I made sure the remainder wasnt bent before i decided to spend some time modifying it.

I used an air powered angle die grinder, with a fiber disc cutoff wheel. I think it turned out great. Check out the pix. I decided to take pix after i cut off the outer belt groove, dressed up and filed the cut, and sand blasted it.

Whatcha think?
Matt
