Does anyone have the factory weights for a forged 273 crank and a forged 340 crank? Thanks

I think he means how much they weigh.

The 273/318 crank was lighter, but the actual poundage, (hehe, love that word) I am not sure. And don't know where to get that info.

I'm looking at total shipping weight of the cranks. To get a newer 904 to fit a 273 crank you have to drill the pilot hole bigger. Also the cycles of a 273 crank is just in years at least 5 yrs. more. For stock eliminator racing less reciprocating weight means better et and mph. I'm trying to factor many variables. Thanks

Well hughes has'em listed as weighing the following

318 cast 52lbs
340 forged 56lbs
383 forged 66lbs
400 cast 64lbs
440 cast/forged 69lbs
451 crank cast/forged 67lbs
4.15 stroke MP 75lbs
4.25 HEI steel 63lbs

I just went out and weighed my forged 273 crank for you, I got 55.6 lbs.

According to the list above, this would be the lightest factory forged crank.

Remove some material from the pilot bore and you're obviously a few ounces less.

hi, I weighed all my cranks, 273 & 340 both weigh 56 #, 340 cast weighs 52 #
cast are usually 4 # lighter. I weighed mine for my new srocker motor.
besides, the total piston /rod, ring combo has to meet a min. weight.
