What would cause cranking compression to range from 180 to 210 maybe higher? and if I have a cylinder thats at 210 should i run higher octane than 91? maybe make a mixture for 93 or 95?

I would do a leak down test first and with 210 I think you need about 100/110 gas may be wrong or the tune must be right..maybe some of the others can chime in but i think it has to be dead on to run pump with 210

So, you've got one cylinder with 210 and some others with 180 etc?......sounds like the motor's already "out of bounds" as far as cylinder-to-cylinder variation. Even the 180 is getting to be on the high side......210?....geez. I'd say yeah.....that's race fuel territory.

Mike at MRL said that it might be the fact that im using Stock rods that are reconditioned or since its zero decked might be off a little or some of the chambers might be smaller.. But when I get new cam I will be running 95-97 octane with higher compression 10.9 instead of 10.7 and a solid cam

When we recon rods we usually take .003 off of the cap and rod=.006 . Depending on how many rebuilds and who did it, things can be a bit all over the place.

I'm running 93 octane with 205 c/p across the board. Got to know what your doing to have any hope of the engine making it.
