Crazy Marine Exhaust Manifold

Yep, that's a boat (water cooled) manifold. Not sure I would call it crazy though, a lot of thought went into it. "Wet" manifolds serve two purposes. First is to warm the incoming cooling water before it hits the cylinder head. Second is to reduce exhaust manifold temp. Typically inboard applications have the engine in a small space below deck. Hot exhaust plumbing and wood/fiberglass boat hulls don't mix.
 
If it wasn't so highly priced I would use it on the generator I am building.
 
Unless you have a vintage boat, what good is it? It looks like it would flow about as good as a Christmas tree through a corn field.....
 
Wouldn't work on a car unless you ran the exhuast out the front of the manifold, the rear outlet would be right on the wiper motor. Hopefully for $630 it came off a freshwater cooled engine and isn't plugged up with rust.
