Custom Bee Stripe

-
I said that I would post a picture of my stripe when I got it finished. It ended up taking a little longer than I thought it would but I did get it finished last weekend and finally got around to taking a few pictures of it.

I ended up with some bubbles and a few mistakes that I'm hoping to take care of with a heat gun and a needle. The job was not to hard but I'm not sure if I had the soap to water mixture correct or maybe it was too much water. I got a little bit freaked out when I first started and I very lightly touch the sticker to that car and it really grabbed a hold of it, that is when I sprayed more soapy water.

I'm using the image as my avatar for now. I might change back to my original one with the Dart in its former color and and shape, I don't know.

The stripe looks fantastic Rich!
Leave the car in the sun once or twice and you'll see the bubbles magically disappear. No need for the heat gun or the needle. My trunklid stripe looked like it had zits all across the trunk, and after a few weeks, and a couple days out in the sun, they're gone.

Keep the pix coming dude, the car is looking great!!!

I love that stripe as well, it looks great.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the compliments.

I will try the sun thing on the bubbles before I take the heat gun to it. How hot do you think it will have to be to get them to come out? It looks like fall is finally going to start here in Colorado and we are looking at afternoon highs in the mid to lows 60's from here out. Maybe the stripe guy Challenger Gary has the answer? Thanks again guys. I almost forgot I wanted to thank Gary for the vinyl that I made the letters and numbers with, thanks Gary!!

This is good stuff. When I get to the stripe phase on my '69 here in the next few months, I think the full color bee with "GT 360" would be well in order.

Love it Rich! Looks period correct. :hippy2:

I agree with George, give the stripe a few weeks to settle and some time in the sun does wonders. Patience is a virtue. Do not use a needle to poke holes in the bubbles. You take a risk of paint showing through where you poked holes once the vinyl shrinks down.

Well hopefully since it is sunny a lot here the black will attract all the heat from the sun it can and we will have lots of sunny days for it to fix it self.

Recieved the Rump stripe kit for the Dart from challengergary today.
Looks excellent, nice quality and worksmanship.
