I hope that it is OK to ask a Non-Mopar question.
My daughter has a 2021 Kia Telluride. she is complaining that only when accelerating and turning Left she hears a clicking. Not at coasting.
I crawled under it in the cold, (its amazing the stuff you do for your girl in 12 degree weather), The Driver side I cannot find any play, the Passenger side has a very minor movement when twisting/shaking.

What amount of play is "enough" to proceed with a CV Axle replacement?
Thank you for any constructive answers.

when you tested were the front wheels off the ground?

if it was me I would raise both the front wheels off the ground BUT support the front by whatever they use as a lower control arm. that way the suspension is at ride height.

then with the engine running (SAFETY SAFETY SAFETY) put it in drive and turn the steering wheel back and forth. do you still get the same type of noise?

APPLY THE BRAKE BEFORE PUTTING THE CAR BACK INTO PARK!!!!!

also with the front off the ground you can check for bad front wheel bearings

good luck you you.

Thank You Dana67Dart. I will talk to her and get it here again to do your test.
The test I did was off the ground with the wheel hanging. There was a small amount of play on the axle on the passenger side.
Not that you could see but I could feel it. I assumed that was a good method to test?

Also inspect the CV axle boots, the rubber seals around the joint, for rips, cracks, or tears. Look for any grease escaping from the boots on the suspension parts and the inside of the wheels.

70dart340 I did verify the boots did not have any tears/rips. I did not see any grease sneaking out.
thanks for covering all the bases.

AWD Coupler likely. Trade it for something basic/simpler.

You symptom sounds like a CV is bad. Usually the Passenger side goes do to it spinning on ice and then grabbing on the bare surface when parked on the side of the road. Most I have replaced were the right side. I would take it in for repair ASAP if it brakes it could affect steering.
