I was curious if a rearend from a 75 D100 would fit an A body? To my knowledge the trucks came with 8 3/4" rearends? Is there a axle width difference?

If you find a D truck or B van 8-3/4 please don’t cut. They are somewhat uncommon. Many of the trucks came with Chrysler (not Dana) 9.25 rearends. I would love to find one for my truck.

My 79 D100 came with an 8 1/4.
I have seen the 8-3/4 rear in 4x4’s and not in 5x4.5” bolt circle. I forget but it akin to 5x5 or bigger.

Plenty of c-body cores for cutting.

I've got a 70ish D100 8 3/4 that I am going to swap into my 88 D100. I got a pair of 8 3/4 axles with the 5 x 5.5 bolt pattern from a member here so that I don't have to swap the wheels that are already on my truck. I think the 74 Power Wagons were the ones that had the 5.5" bolt pattern. The big axles that I got are the exact same length as the ones in the older D100 8 3/4. I'm going to swap the brakes off of the 9 1/4 that I'm yanking out of the truck.

Like in everything else the 8.75 ended in 74 for the trucks. After that it could be an 8.25 or 9.25

Got side tracked and didn't answer your question...lol. I think an A100 rearend is closer to fitting than a D100. Check the link below for axle widths.

An accurate 8 3/4" rear axle width list

With an angle grinder, plasma cutter and mig welder, anything will fit anywhere.

Both of my D100's have 8.25 axles

Both were 225, 833 OD trucks.

The 1980 has 5 on 4.5, the 1987 has 5 on 5 bolt pattern.

Oddly enough, the 9 1/4 axles from Dakota R/T trucks (I have one and a spare axle) are wider than the D 100 axles!
