D150 Tailgate Latch Problems

I have a 1982 D150 that is great shape. Only problem is the Pass side release doesnt work when the handle is pulled. In looking at it, everything is there and working it just doesnt move far enough. I can open it by the fingernail on the little catch but the wife cant reach it all at the same time.
Anyone know what needs replaced or adjusted?

Before tearing into and replacing anything have you given it a squirt of your favorite penetrating oil? Could just be binding for lack of lubrication.

Have you pulled the handle to make sure the arm has not fallen out of the little plastic clip?

The plastic clip holding the rod to the latch (or the handle) is probably worn, and not moving the rod far enough. That is assuming the strikers are both properly adjusted.

Ill spray it down with some PB Blaster. Everything is connected and it moves just no enough to trip the latch. Anyone know if the bushings are still available? As there a procedure for aligning the end latches? Looks like they just bolt in with the 2 bolts.
