I have a 70 Dart Swinger my son and I have been restoring. Almost done besides exhaust and front windshield. I now have done this job twice but am questioning the fitment of the rubber gasket and chrome trim. There are gaps that look odd to me in the corners. I have checked on line and have seen where other cars look like this too. My question is, is this normal? My B Body doesn’t look like this. I have used two gaskets. The one on it now is from Detroit Muscle who always sells good stuff. I am wondering if the glass could be not quite the factory specs. Any feedback would be appreciated

Something is not right. Does the new gasket fit the old windshield? Old gasket fit the new windshield. Send your pictures posted to the windshield/gasket manufacturer and ask why.

Where or who was the vendor that you purchased your aftermarket windshield from?
It appears to me me that the upper a pillar windshield width is too narrow for the upper window rubber corners to settle into correctly and into the roof and upper a pillar. I would look for a different windshield vendor.

Unfortunately I didn’t keep the original windshield to compare

I used a windshield shop that was recommended to me for the first windshield. I figured it was a gasket issue as the first gasket looked worse. I thought I’d try a new gasket. I may order a new windshield. Any recommendations on who to order from. Classic industries is who I was thinking.

I just installed a new gasket and windshield in my '70 Dart (AMD glass and Precision gasket). The fitment was good all around except from the upper drivers side corner which looks like yours. I haven't got around to trimming it which I hope that will solve the issue. There must be something wrong with the mold.

Ya, as stated that’s not right. I wouldn’t be happy either. I know the sedan windshields are different but no sure how. Maybe someone in the know will chime in. Kim

From what I understand precision rubber is who makes almost all the ones available. I talked to a couple different suppliers. I was also told it’s common for issue on these and they use butyl to fill in the gaps. I was at a show recently and all of them had butyl in the corners. I may try and AMD glass and see if that helps at all.
