dart twin hood scoops

-
When I purchased my 70 Dart Swinger, it had hood scoops mounted on the stock scoop style hood (OEM holes), with 383 emblems on them--I would assume they came from a Coronet, etc.. They exactly fit the original holes. Ben.

The scoops are the same
If you have a set off a B Body the # emblem may have a extra hole drilled A body scoops had 2 holes for the 340 emblem where B Body had 3 or more holes for 440 6 pack and ect

They are the same. I hered they also used them on the Datonas and Superbirds on the fenders. Not positive on that one though.

yup deff the same only thing diff about the A and B scoops is the B body scoops got a chrome trim around the opening and the As did not. Makes a nice 300$ part with the trim where as the As go for like a 150$

A bodies came with the trim too.

I also read somewhere that the optional twin side scoops on the 69 Super Bee were the same as the twin scoops on the 340 'Cuda. Anybody know if there's any truth to that?

Nope. The 69 cuda' 340 had 2 short single scoops on the hood or fenders while the super bee had 2 two scoop on the quarter pannel.

What I had read was that the Super Bee had two of the 340 Cuda scoops mounted to the quarter panel. I've never looked into it but it would probably be easy to tell with side by side pics. I know that I've certainly come across a lot of mis-information in books written by so-called experts. Wish I could remember where I had read it. Probably in a book published in Great Britain. They seem to have a lot of errors in them.

Well, I can't tell for sure if the Super Bee scoop is one piece or two seperate scoops side by side but whichever it is I don't think it looks the same as the Cuda scoop. Shape looks different.

I believe I was reading somewhere that the 70 A's had the chrome bezel, and then in 71 the bezel was black! also the 340 CI emblem on A's was not used on 71! I could be wrong!

69, 70, 71 scoops all have the same part numbers. The only difference was how the holes where drilled for the emblem. These scoops where only available on; 69 Super Bee, 69 Coronet R/T, 70 Super Bee, 70 Coronet R/T, 70 Dart Swinger 340, 70 Duster 340, 71 Demon 340, 71 Duster 340, 71 Duster Twister. They may have also been available on the Canadian 71 Dart Swinger 340. Those are the ONLY models that they where every factory installed on.

72 Demon's, 73-6 Dart Sport 340/360's also had their own scoop. It was the big snorkel scoop. They also continued to use it on a few F-bodies. Dusters weren't FACTORY available with functional scoops after 71, no exceptions. Dealers did offer them however.

Chrome bezels were included on ALL of the scoops EXCEPT for the Duster Twisters. (Twisters also came with rally wheels with no trim rings)

The 69 'cuda hood scoop was used ONLY on the 69 'cuda and 73-4 Duster Twister. They where made out of pot metal too iirc.

The 69 Super Bee/Coronet R/T side scoop is a one piece fiber glass un-functional scoop.

Daytona Fender scoop was a Daytona ONLY piece

Super Bird Fender scoop was a Super Bird ONLY piece

:) Hope this helps.

Not available on 70-71 Duster340s. Love to see an original BS or fender tag that has them listed.

From what I've seen, only Dusters that came with the twin scoops is 71-72 twisters.

I wondered on 71's, but I am about 100% sure they where on 70's. Not for sure though. Other than those two errors, I think you will find my findings correct
