The dash and rear cover (where the speakers are) are in pretty good shape. The only thing they would need is paint or something of the kind. What should I use? The original color is sort of grey.

I used a satin finish paint on the dash. You don't want a flat or gloss as flat paint is to grainy and gloss will be to shiney. For the package tray I used a piece of black vinyl and it worked real good.

I agrre with Jack, satin paint on the dash, and some type of upholstery on the package tray. I have seen I have see padded (diamond shapes) black leather upholstery on one and it looked smokin'

The rear package tray should be dyed. It's fiber board and will soak up a lot of paint. Beware anything high gloss under windows. The glare kills your view out. Fact ... heat shrinks vynil ! If it would work there the factory would have used it there. Those custom jobs like the diamonds (yeah I saw that too) sure better keep it in the shade.
