Windshield removed. Interior is bare steel. Removal of windshield screws is obvious. Aren't there some bolts on the sides of the car that also secure dash? Can the steering column just be dropped or must it be removed? Any other tips? tx...........james

if its like the 70's up then yes there is two bolts one on the left one on the right that bolt into the kick pannel area as long as you drop the steering column down you should have no problem just my .02

If you remove the studs that hold the column to the dash you could probably get away with just dropping the column. The two bolts by the kick panels just need to be loosened, and there is a nut holding the parking brake to the dash that has to come off.

There may be one more. Once you drop the steering column look above where it was. Tere may be a single stud and nut attaching the dash to the pedal support.
Some cars have it, some dont. Why ? I dont know.

Another question: Dash is removed. Location of switches from left to right are:
1) Headlamp switch
2) Flasher switch
3) Blank hole (on right side of steering column).
4) Wiper switch

What is supposed to go in the blank hole? It is an air conditioned car.

Key ignition switch, I think. Thats where my ignition switch is on my '69 dash.
